App Features

Mobile application technology is expanding at an almost crazy rate. It seems almost every time you turn around, there's a new feature being integrated into apps, and it can be tough keeping up with them all. My camera can do what, now? How did they get an app to do that? We at Appvisors find it both fun and challenging to keep abreast of all the incredible things smartphones and tablets can do—and the ways apps can be designed to take advantage of it. We celebrate the people who respond to the comment, “But an app can't do that!” with “Why not?”
We'd like for our Appvice Community members to use this discussion thread to share what you've learned about mobile app features. Have you heard about a breakthrough feature that's coming down the pike? Let folks know about it here. What features do you consider basic and useful, and which ones come across as just “bells and whistles”? What features would you like to see developed that haven't been yet?
